Belarus has found a new way to transport its products for export bypassing sanctions — it will send goods to Russia, and from there to Gebze, Turkey, on the Sea of Marmara in the Kocaeli province in the northwest of the country.
According to the Turkish publication Patronlar Dünyası:
“Belarus, whose borders with Eastern Europe were closed due to sanctions, launched a new initiative to open a commercial route through the Black Sea. Trains operated by the Belarusian state logistics company Beltamozhservice will first arrive at the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk and then continue by ship to Gebze,” the article reports.
The article notes that in this way, Moscow and Minsk, facing the harshest sanctions in history following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, are opening a new trade corridor.
“The Minsk-based company Beltamozhservice, Belarus’s largest logistics company, announced the launch of a multimodal connection with Turkey through the Black Sea… The project, called ‘Minsk–Beltamozhservice-2,’ involves transporting a container train from the logistics center in Kolyadichi to the Russian port of Novorossiysk, and from there shipping it by sea to the port of Gebze,” the publication adds.

Beltamozhservice was founded by the State Customs Committee of Belarus and is known as the national logistics operator and a major exporter of Belarusian products. The company has been included in the sanctions lists of the U.S. and European Union following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
