Currently, large solar power stations generate approximately 3 GW of capacity daily, supporting Ukraine's energy system during the daytime. Due to an increase in the number of individual solar stations, approximately 1 GW of additional capacity can be added to the energy grid this year.

Ruslan Slobodyan, the head of the State Energy Supervision, stated this during a telethon.

"Solar generation, which currently supports our energy system throughout the day, includes not only large power stations owned by businesses but also thousands of private small-scale solar power stations. They make a significant contribution to Ukraine's energy independence," emphasized the official.

He mentioned an expected increase in the installation of distributed generation units by businesses and citizens.

"The state provides maximum support for the development of distributed generation. All opportunities are being opened up for rapid development: the procedure for grid connections has been significantly simplified, technical conditions for connection by regional energy companies must now be issued within two days instead of the previous 10. All permitting documents have also been greatly simplified – now, it's sufficient to have a certificate from the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate confirming the need for such an installation," explained Slobodyan.

He reminded that the "Affordable loans 5-7-9%" program has been extended to include gas turbine and gas piston units, with plans to introduce tax incentives for the import of such equipment.

Slobodyan also promised that a special program for preferential interest-free loans for 5 years will be available to citizens through the Entrepreneurship Development Fund.

The head of the State Energy Supervision noted that the cost of solar panels worldwide decreases annually. Currently, a basic minimum set with a capacity of 5 kW costs approximately $5,000.
