Under the Tallinn Mechanism, Canada will provide Ukraine ₴92 million (3 million Canadian dollars) to strengthen critical infrastructure protection and counter cyber threats, the Ministry of Digital Transformation reported.

“Canada will direct about ₴92 million (3 million CAD) to support the implementation of projects within the Tallinn Mechanism. The funding is planned for two years. The money will be used for a number of strategic initiatives to systematically build Ukraine’s digital security, in particular to protect critical infrastructure, systematically counter cyber threats, create effective systems for detecting, preventing and responding to cyberattacks, as well as to supply equipment,” the statement said.

It is noted that Canadian partners have already selected six projects for financing. Among them are support for the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, the Chornobyl NPP and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The funding will come through the U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF Global), an organization with experience in implementing technical assistance projects in Ukraine
