In 2023, Ukraine increased its production of domestic mortar mines by 42 times. This information was disclosed during the "Ukraine. Year 2024" forum. Specifically, it was noted during the forum that the production of 60mm, 82mm, and 120mm mortar mines increased by 42 times compared to the previous year.
Despite such growth, the quantity produced domestically still falls short of the military's needs.
One of the reasons for delays in the deployment of mass production is the global shortage of gunpowder, which has affected not only Ukrainian manufacturers but also foreign companies.
Due to global events, suppliers have reported an unprecedented demand and anticipated a global shortage of gunpowder, leading to significantly increased prices.
Overall, since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the number of companies involved in the production of 82mm mines has increased from 2 to 20.
