This year's issue of the prestigious Irish literary magazine Irish Pages was titled War in Europe and focused on Ukraine. The bilingual edition brings together works by authors from Ukraine, Ireland, the UK, and the US, exploring themes of war, culture, and humanitarian challenges related to the current events in Ukraine.
Journalist and member of the Kovyla Publishing team, Nataliya Korniyenko, shared this on her Facebook page. She also noted that the guest editor for the issue was Askold Melnyczuk, who invited her to write an essay about her experience as a refugee from Ukraine to Ireland for the edition.
The issue includes poetry by renowned Ukrainian artists such as Serhiy Zhadan, Halyna Kruk, and Ostap Slyvynsky. The essay section features works by authors like Yuriy Andrukhovych and Oksana Zabuzhko, highlighting the experience of war and Ukrainian resistance. Among the international contributors is Timothy Snyder, an American historian specializing in Eastern European topics.
The issue can be ordered on the official Irish Pages magazine website or through Amazon. The price is $39.
