Andrey Piontkovsky: Putin's state has lost its monopoly

Andrey Piontkovsky is sure that internecine wars in Russia are already in full swing, but so far only at the level of feudal struggle. At the same time, the deep people will join after the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberate Kherson.

Andrey Piontkovsky, a Russian opposition political scientist, mathematician, and publicist based in Washington, has said that Putin's state has lost its monopoly on violence. Today, inside the Russian Federation, not only Kadyrov and Prigozhin (who are simply the most active and visible in the public space) are actively fighting for power, but also other high-ranking officials. “The entire Putin elite is now busy with one question: how to retain power and a huge property in a country suffering defeat. Other players (Kadyrov and Prigozhin and many similar ambitious people) are not interested in losing, but in seizing power,” the expert explained in an interview with Daria Kudymova.

The head of Chechnya, Kadyrov, is playing two games, Piontkovsky believes. He is expanding the army loyal to him and is already participating in Russia's post-Putin partition. He has a really professional training structure, so he doesn't drive "mobiles" to the front in two days.

“Putin’s state has lost its monopoly on violence, which is the state's main characteristic. The analogies are elementary. 1917-1918. But the worst thing for Russia has not yet begun. While feudal wars are going on, that is, iconic barons are fighting among themselves. Where is the deep people? And these are those unlucky "mobilized", half of which will survive according to the probability theory. And they will return to Moscow, go there to rob in the same way as Russian peasants returned with rifles to Petrograd. This will be the next stage of the civil war. These processes are underway, and of course, the liberation of Kherson will give a solid impetus for these processes," Andrey Piontkovsky explained.
