The Russian command continues to send its soldiers on assaults in the left-bank Kherson region but refuses to retrieve their bodies. This practice is reportedly intended to avoid paying compensation to the families of the deceased.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the partisan movement ATESH.
"Agents of the 'ATESH' movement among the servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces report on the lawlessness of the 61st Separate Naval Infantry Brigade's command in the left-bank Kherson region. Commanders send troops on deadly assaults and then refuse to evacuate their own casualties," the statement reads.
Following one assault in which more than half of a company was killed, the command refused to recover the bodies of its fallen soldiers.
The report notes that this directive comes from higher command to classify the soldiers as "missing" on official records, thus avoiding compensation payments to families.
Surviving soldiers are reportedly clashing with their commanders, questioning why their comrades’ bodies are left behind while boats continue to operate empty. Tensions are exacerbated by the cynical behavior of the commanders.
According to the partisans, rising casualties and such treatment have led to increasing conflicts with the command, along with a growing number of sabotage and subversive acts among the soldiers
