British intelligence has analyzed the consequences of the destruction of the Russian Black Sea Fleet ship "Novocherkassk" and revealed its role for the Russian military, as reported by the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom.

It is noted that Russia likely intended to use its fleet of landing ships for significant operations and attacks during a full-scale invasion. Therefore, Russia doubled their number in the Black Sea in preparation for war.

Intelligence reports added that Russia has already lost three large ships: the Saratov sank on March 24, 2022, and the Minsk was essentially destroyed in dry dock on September 13, 2023. Two more submarines were likely damaged.

"As the war has dragged on, the ships have been more commonly employed in providing logistical support. This is a significant role because it augments the vital and relatively fragile road and rail connection of the Crimea Bridge, which links Crimea to Russia," the intelligence suggested.
