On April 23, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki signed a Memorandum in Kraków to strengthen cooperation in the railway sector.

Denys Shmyhal stressed that after the start of russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Poland has become a key logistics center to help Ukraine. Cooperation proves to be particularly close at the level of the two countries' railway infrastructure, and such partnership needs to be intensified.

The Memorandum provides for the establishment of a joint logistics company of the two countries. This will allow the states to dramatically increase the volume of rail transportation of Ukrainian exports to the EU and world markets through Europe.

"By blocking Ukrainian ports, russia is trying to provoke a global food crisis. We must prevent this. The signed memorandum on strengthening cooperation in the railway sector between Ukraine and Poland will enable us to ramp up export capacity, including of agricultural products. Convenient solutions in the logistics area for Ukrainian business will allow them to promptly deliver the necessary goods anywhere in the world. This is critical for the stability of our economy," said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
