At a meeting on February 14, the Government established an Interagency Working Group on Humanitarian Demining. According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the main task of the working group will be to coordinate all authorities and actually define a strategy and a roadmap. The working group will be headed by First Deputy Prime Minister â Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko.
âDue to actions of russian terrorists, Ukraine has become one of the most mine- and shell-contaminated countries in the world. Demining will become one of the top 5 priorities for recovery this year,â noted Denys Shmyhal.
Earlier, on February 11, following a coordination meeting, a decision was made to establish a Humanitarian Demining Center. According to the Prime Minister, this institution will enable a systematic approach to solving the existing problem.
