It should be noted that Ukrainians were urged to consider the possibility of leaving the country for the winter period.

As Maxim Timchenko, CEO of DTEK, said in an interview with the BBC, this will help save electricity after almost half of Ukraine's energy system was damaged by massive Russian missile strikes. The Russian strikes damaged almost half of Ukraine's energy system.

"This is not an emergency where you need to evacuate immediately, but we need to organize everything so that consumption is as efficient as possible," he said.

According to Timchenko, Ukraine's energy system is becoming less reliable with each new Russian strike. At the same time, reducing its consumption is the key to its conservation. He noted that Ukrainians should consider leaving Ukraine to help their country win the war against Russia.

"If they (Ukrainians) can find an alternative place to live for another three or four months, it will be very useful for the system," Timchenko said.

DTEK CEO explained that assistance to the energy system of Ukraine also contributes to the victory. Reducing electricity consumption will ensure that there is light in the hospitals that save our wounded soldiers.

“If you consume less, then hospitals with wounded soldiers will have guaranteed electricity supply. This can explain that by consuming less or leaving, they also contribute," Timchenko added.

The day before, DTEK stated that a blackout is possible in Ukraine, but it could be avoided if the damage is repaired in time. But it takes longer to restore the system fully.
