Ukrainian defenders repelled aerial attacks by the enemy using 'Shahed' drones on the night of December 27 in eight regions. The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 32 out of 46 kamikaze drones operated by Russians were successfully shot down.
The military disclosed that a total of 46 launches of 'Shahed' drones were recorded, which attacked in waves at different times, during the period from 19:00 on December 26 to 03:50 on December 27.
"On the night of December 27, 2023, Russian occupiers launched strikes with 'Shahed' UAVs from two directions: Balaklava - occupied Crimea, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk - Krasnodar Krai (Russia)," the statement said.
Using air defense forces and means, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 32 Russian UAVs.
The Air Force noted that most of the drones that could not be shot down attacked the front-line territories, including the Kherson region.
"Several UAVs fell without consequences," the military said.
Overall, the air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine operated in the Mykolaiv, Odessa, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhia, Khmelnytskyi, and Kirovohrad regions.
