President Alar Karis announced that Estonia will provide assistance to Ukraine in the amount of €1.2 billion by 2027.

He made this statement during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"As part of the EU, we have already provided Ukraine with support of approximately 5 billion euros. This support needs to continue. Estonia's long-term contribution by 2027 will amount to 1.2 billion euros. Ukraine needs greater and better-armored support," emphasized Karis.

He added that the EU should increase arms production so that Ukraine can receive everything necessary 'not tomorrow, but already today.'

'Our actions should be aimed at preventing any aggressive war in Europe in the future. Ukraine will have support from Estonia as long as the war continues,' added Karis.

The President also noted that Estonia will annually provide Ukraine with 0.25% of the country's defense budget.

'And we encourage everyone to provide Ukraine with as much assistance as they can until Russia stops its war,' he emphasized.
