In August, Russian forces carried out 447 attacks on Ukrainian Defense Forces using special munitions filled with hazardous chemical substances.
This information was reported by the Support Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Facebook.
It has been established that from February 15, 2023, to August 24, 2024, the total number of chemical attacks by the Russian army reached 4,035.
"Alongside conventional firepower, the enemy uses munitions filled with dangerous chemicals, such as K-51 and RG-VO, which are designed for riot control and are prohibited for use in warfare. There is also a significant portion of munitions containing unspecified hazardous chemical compounds," noted the Support Forces.
The command emphasizes that such actions by Russia constitute a severe breach of warfare rules and disregard for the norms and obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention.
