High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell stated that European support for Ukraine is constant and structured and does not depend on the course of hostilities. He made this statement during a press conference in Kyiv.
"Our support for Ukraine does not depend on how the war unfolds in the coming days or weeks. Ukrainian soldiers are overcoming powerful Russian defensive fortifications. Satellite images show that these fortifications are sometimes up to 25 kilometers wide," emphasized Borrell.
The European diplomat noted that the offensive actions are complicated by dense mining.
He emphasized that the EU faces an existential threat, so support for Ukraine "does not depend on one day."
"The Ukrainians are fighting bravely with the resources they have. We want them to be more successful, so we need to provide more weapons and do so quickly," concluded the EU High Representative.
It is worth noting that on Sunday, Borrell visited Kyiv and met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
