The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhii Marchenko held a virtual meeting with the Federal Councillor of the Federal Department of Finance of the Swiss Confederation Ueli Maurer.
Serhii Marchenko thanked the Swiss Government for supporting Ukraine, in particular for imposing sanctions on russian legal entities and individuals, despite Switzerland's historically neutral status. Today, the Swiss list of sanctioned persons is fully in line with EU sanctions policy.
Separately, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine drew attention to the presence of significant russian financial assets in Swiss banks and asked to impose sanctions measures on them.
It is critical that russia has no way to avoid sanctions, especially in the banking sector. Sanctions against russia should be strengthened
