Russian forces have concentrated in Krynyky, Kherson region, and are attempting to displace Ukrainian forces from there.
This information was reported by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Natalia Humenyuk, during a telethon.
"Our combat operations continue there to secure and expand the foothold, while the enemy is trying to force our units out. There are virtually no intact buildings left, artillery units from both sides are in operation. Additionally, the enemy has heavily bombarded this region," noted the spokesperson.
Humenyuk added that around 10,000 Russians are concentrated in the Krynyky of the Kherson region.
Military authorities are urging local residents to evacuate from the active combat zone.
To recap, in the fall of 2023, it became known that our soldiers were consolidating their positions on the left bank of the Kherson region, particularly on the foothold in the area of the settlement of Krynyky.
The General Staff explained that the Armed Forces of Ukraine aim to push Russian occupiers away from the right bank of the Dnipro River. This would help reduce shelling on civilian areas. Spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces Natalia Humenyuk emphasized that operations on the left bank are ongoing.
