During the 16th annual Kyiv Security Forum, attended by representatives of Ukraine's military intelligence among others, NATO Military Committee Chairman Admiral Rob Bauer remarked,
"This war is being waged because President Putin fears something far more powerful than any physical weapon on Earth—democracy... But no propaganda can hide the truth that he has not achieved any of his strategic objectives. What are Russian troops fighting for? They have no idea. But you do. You are fighting for civilization itself... It would be a terrible historical mistake to let him win. It would be dangerous for all of us because the outcome of this war will impact the fate of the entire world."
The event also saw participation from NATO and EU representatives, defense ministers of partner states, European and American policymakers and experts, international figures, and global specialists in international relations and security issues.
