As a result of a nighttime missile strike by Russians near Zaporizhzhia on the night of October 18, two people have already been killed. According to Anatoliy Kurtev, the secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, four people were wounded, and three Ukrainians are still missing.
"Partially, apartments in two entrances of the building are destroyed," Kurtev added.
Currently, assistance is being provided to the residents in municipal buses, at a tent set up by the city council, and at the nearest point of safety.
"Unfortunately, the number of fatalities has risen to 2 people, and the number of wounded is now 3 people. Another 3 people are considered missing. Residents were evacuated to a safe place, provided with warmth, and offered psychological and other assistance," wrote Yuriy Malashko, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, in a Telegram.
Emergency services are continuing their work on-site.
"Thank you to the rescuers who, at the risk of their lives, are clearing the rubble and are always the first in dangerous situations. Thank you to the medical professionals for treating and providing relief to those injured and pulling them back from the brink. Thank you to the law enforcement officers for protecting and maintaining order. And thank you to all the compassionate individuals who are helping and not standing on the sidelines," added Malashko.
