Poland has announced plans to continue fortifying its eastern border, with Warsaw set to begin constructing modern fortifications.
According to Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, reported by TVP Info, during a meeting with military personnel near the eastern border, Tusk stated that the Polish-Belarusian border is a unique location due to pressure from illegal immigration.
"In reality, we are dealing with an escalating hybrid war. I want there to be no doubts - a country with increasingly aggressive intentions towards Poland, such as Belarus, is a co-organizer of this practice on the Polish border," said the head of the Polish government, emphasizing that when it comes to security, there will be "no restrictions."
Tusk highlighted that protecting the eastern border is not only important for Poland but for the whole of Europe.
"We have begun intensive work on modern fortifications, and these fortifications, in many dimensions, will be built along the entire Polish border from the east. This is not only Poland's internal border but also the EU border. Therefore, I have no doubt that all of Europe must - and I know we will achieve this - invest in its security by investing in Poland's eastern border and the security of our border," he stated.
