Poland plans to continue strengthening its territory near the border with the Russian Federation and Belarus. This includes, in particular, the construction of bunkers.
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Poland, WÅadysÅaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, according to Radio ZET.
The official was asked whether Poland should start building bunkers, digging ditches, and trenches on the border with Belarus and Russia.
In response, he agreed and announced that Poland's leadership is preparing a plan for building bunkers and digging trenches. He also stated that Poland is already reinforcing its border.
"We are repairing and strengthening the dam, there is a military group in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. In the Lublin, Masovian, and Warmian-Masurian voivodeships, we have the army, and there are allied forces," he said, adding that comprehensive work is underway.
After the invasion of Ukraine, the Polish leadership became concerned about its own security and announced plans to strengthen the defense of its borders with Russia and Belarus.
Last year, Poland decided to reinforce its border with Belarus, but at that time, the reason for this was the presence of Wagner PMC mercenaries.
