Sergey Lavrov, the controversial Russian Foreign Minister, has accused France and Germany of "undermining the territorial integrity of Ukraine."

As stated by Lavrov in an interview with TASS, he claimed that France and Germany allegedly "undermined the territorial integrity of Ukraine because they had no intention of implementing the Minsk agreements."

"When the co-authors of Vladimir Putin on the Minsk agreements openly admitted that they had essentially misled him and had no intention of implementing them, it was they who undermined the territorial integrity of Ukraine, which they now constantly claim to be concerned about," Lavrov said.

He also noted that last year, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel and former French President François Hollande stated that the Minsk agreements were an "attempt to give time to Ukraine." In Lavrov's view, this was done "with the aim of replenishing the military arsenals of the Ukrainian regime against the Russian Federation." He cynically argued that "the preservation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine was the essence of the Minsk agreements."

"Territorial integrity is restored by granting special status to Donbas - the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics," he explained.
