Captive Russian serviceman Igor Rudenko, who said he was a citizen of Ukraine, spoke of the shelling of civilians in Nova Kakhovka.

"We were ordered to shoot at civilians."

Rudenko said that Russian troops had deployed artillery under cover of the civilian population of Ukraine. After that, the occupiers received an order to "fire a volley on the city's outskirts."

According to the prisoner, it turned out that they were targeting civilians.

"We were confronted when we were ordered to fire, as they say, on the city's outskirts. When I looked at the map we were given, it turned out that they were peaceful houses, civilians," Rudenko said.

Shooting a car with a woman and her son

Captive Rudenko also spoke about how a civilian car was shot at in Nova Kakhovka.

"I was confronted with the shooting of a civilian car in Nova Kakhovka. There was a woman there, and her son was driving, and they shot him with a machine gun," the prisoner said.

Rudenko said the shooting happened because they were driving and did not stop.
