On the evening of December 30, Russians launched S-300 missiles at the center of Kharkiv. 21 people were injured, including teenagers aged 14 and 16, as well as a journalist from Great Britain, according to the city prosecutor's office.
Nine of the injured received assistance on the spot, while the rest were hospitalized. Due to the shelling, the Kharkiv Palace Hotel, apartment buildings, a kindergarten, administrative buildings, shops, restaurants, and cars were damaged.
Russian occupiers also launched a UAV strike on the civilian infrastructure of Kharkiv on December 31, around 01:00. Residential buildings, a financial institution, administrative buildings, cafes, shops, and pharmacies in the city were damaged. There were no casualties.
On the night of December 31, the Air Force destroyed 21 Shahed UAVs out of 49. In addition to Kharkiv, air defense systems were active in Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
