The world premiere of Kateryna Gornostai's debut feature film "Stop-Zemlya", created with the support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency, took place at the 71st Berlin Film Festival, where the film received the Crystal Bear from the Youth Jury of the Berlinale Generation 14plus. Also, this year, the film became the winner of the National Award "Kinokolo" and won awards in five nominations, including - for Best Feature Film. The film will be released in wide cinemas in Ukraine at the beginning of next year.
During the Days of Ukrainian Cinema in Finland, Natalka Vorozhbyt will present her film "Bad Roads" - a film that won the 77th Venice Film Festival and was nominated for an Oscar this year. After the screening, viewers in Finland will hold an online discussion of the film with director Natalka Vorozhbyt.
Modern Ukrainian cinema in Helsinki will also feature Roman Perfilev's film "The Inglourious Serfs", and the classic of Ukrainian cinema - Yuri Ilyenko's film "White Bird with a Black Mark". The film's screening, which has become a pearl of Ukrainian poetic cinema, will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding ukrainian actor Bohdan Stupka.
The festival "The Ukranian Film Days in Finland" is organized by the Ukrainian Association in Finland, "Independent Cultural Initiatives" with the support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency, Arts Promotion Center Finland and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Finland.
