The reconnaissance unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has received the PD-2 unmanned aerial system from the "Return Alive" Charitable Foundation for Army Assistance.
The system consists of two aircraft and is equipped with its own power supply and communication ground control station integrated into a high-mobility minibus.
This allows for a much faster deployment and folding of the unmanned aerial system. Moreover, it provides the capability to quickly change the location, literally saving the lives of operators from enemy countermeasures.
PD-2 is a Ukrainian high-tech and reliable system, highly appreciated by the reconnaissance forces. With this complex, they can operate at a significant depth, provide artillery units with target coordinates, and adjust their fire.
"The most important feature of this system is its ability to operate in conditions of active radio-electronic warfare. It is also capable of conducting reconnaissance at a distance of over 100 kilometers. During the defense of Kyiv, we flew a similar system 95 kilometers from the launch point. And it can stay in the air for over 5 hours, meaning that PD-2 can cover the needs of more than one artillery crew in a single flight," said "Ruben," the commander of the reconnaissance unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"In our group, we never counted the destroyed targets. It's not a competition – it's just a huge desire to burn them," added "Ozi," who has been serving as a reconnaissance officer for 8 years.
The PD-2 unmanned aerial system, which will help destroy even more enemy equipment, was purchased by volunteers with donations from benefactors, totaling 25,709,801.13 UAH. You can contribute to the Ukrainian army by following this link: https://savelife.in.ua/donate/#donate-army-card-monthly
