The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has urged Belarus to withdraw its troops from the Ukrainian borders to a distance that exceeds the range of the existing combat systems of the neighboring country.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Belarusian Armed Forces are concentrating personnel, equipment, tanks, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, and air defense systems in the Gomel region near Ukraine's northern borders under the guise of military exercises.

Additionally, mercenaries from the Russian private military company Wagner have been spotted at the borders.

"We call on Belarusian officials not to make tragic mistakes for their own country under Moscow's pressure, and for its armed forces to cease hostile actions and withdraw troops from the state border of Ukraine to a distance exceeding the range of Belarus' existing fire systems," the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Ukraine has never made and does not intend to make any hostile actions against the Belarusian people.

"We warn that in the event of a border breach, Ukraine will use all necessary measures for self-defense, and all concentrations of troops, facilities, and supply routes in Belarus will become legitimate targets for the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the Ministry concluded.

The monitoring project Belaruski Hajun details that the number of personnel amounts to approximately 1,100 and does not pose a threat to Ukraine.

The project also notes that the troops are located 50 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
