President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with the Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska.
The head of state thanked for the military and financial assistance from the first days of full-scale Russian invasion and noted the importance of the resolutions of the Polish Senate in support of Ukraine.
"It is very important that your society warmly supports Ukraine and Ukrainians from the very first days when we needed help. We count on your support. We defend democracy and freedom also for Poland – our neighbor. I am sure we will win, and I believe it will be our joint victory," said Volodymyr Zelensky.
The head of state and the Marshal of the Polish Senate emphasized the importance of further dynamic development of dialogue between the parliaments of both countries.
The President talked about the situation in Kharkiv region and constant shelling with rockets, drones, and air bombs from the aggressor state, Russia. They discussed cooperation with Poland to strengthen the air defense system in Ukraine.
Special attention was paid to the preparation of the peace summit in Switzerland and the bilateral security agreement within the framework of the Vilnius Declaration of the G7.
They also exchanged views on the start of negotiations between Ukraine and the European Union, in particular on the importance of Poland's future chairmanship for the implementation of Ukraine's priorities on the path to the EU.
