Ukraine and Norway have agreed to extend the agreement on the liberalization of freight transport between the two countries until the end of 2025.

This was reported by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development.

“The liberalization of freight transport between Ukraine and Norway has been officially extended until December 31, 2025. The agreement was reached on June 5 during a meeting of the joint commission between the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and the Ministry of Transport of Norway,” the statement said.

As the Ministry explained, freight transport between the two countries, as well as transit, remains possible without special permits, provided that the truck meets the Euro-5 standard or higher.

The agreement also includes the possibility of automatically extending this liberalization beyond 2025.

Ukraine and Norway first introduced the “transport visa-free regime” in August 2023.

The decision to extend it was the result of negotiations held in May during the International Transport Forum in Leipzig, with the participation of Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Serhii Derkach and State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport of Norway Abel Cecilie Knibe.

Currently, Ukraine has liberalized freight transport arrangements with 35 countries, including EU member states.
