Ukraine creates an online platform for learning the Crimean Tatar language

The National Corpus of the Crimean Tatar Language is being created in Ukraine. This online platform will contain an open database of educational, scientific, and other materials in the Crimean Tatar language.

This was reported in the press service of the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

The project was launched as part of implementing the Strategy for the Development of the Crimean Tatar Language for 2022–2032.

Its goal is to make the Crimean Tatar language widely used and ensure its research and sustainable development.

It is known that UNESCO has included Crimean Tatar in the list of languages ​​under serious threat. The project will give impetus to introducing the Crimean Tatar language in operating systems and online translators.

The project is implemented with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation and the Kyiv National University. Taras Shevchenko.
