In South Korea, the second global summit on the safe development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies took place. At the previous summit held in the UK, participating countries signed the Bletchley Declaration.
The development of AI holds significant potential for Ukraine's economy and society. This technology can enhance efficiency across various sectors and foster the creation of new products and services. However, it is crucial that AI usage remains ethical and responsible, benefiting people rather than causing harm.
Summit participants agreed on a Ministerial Statement, which Ukraine joined. Overall, 27 countries and EU representatives endorsed the statement, which focuses on three main goals: safety, innovation, and inclusivity in AI.
“Ukraine’s participation in the AI Seoul Summit and the signing of the ministerial statement is a clear signal of our commitment to responsible and ethical AI development. We are already actively working on implementing AI in various sectors, boosting Ukraine’s economic development, and improving the lives of our citizens,” stated Georgiy Dubynskyi, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, who represented Ukraine at the summit.
