The defense forces struck the minesweeper of the Project 266-M Kovrovets of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea.

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Navy.

The strike on the ship occurred on May 19, 2024. According to Russian sources, the strike occurred as a result of a combined attack.

Thus, according to unofficial sources, the strike was carried out using drones and ATACMS ballistic missiles.

It should be noted that the minesweeper Kovrovets is a representative of Project 266-M, which were built for the Soviet Navy during the period from 1970 to 1979.

The ship, with a full displacement of 800 tons, is armed with mine-torpedo weapons and hydrolocators for mine detection and neutralization. It can also be used to deploy anchor underwater mines BB-1 in a quantity of 32 units, or 7 KMD-1000 mines.
