In Ukraine and Poland, employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and Polish law enforcement conducted searches as part of an investigation into possible procurement of weapons at inflated prices from April 2022 to February 2023. National Anti-Corruption Bureau reported this on Facebook.
This became possible through cooperation between NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Department for Combating Criminal Terrorism and Homicides of the Capital Police Department of the Republic of Poland within the framework of the mechanism of international legal assistance.
"Investigative actions are aimed at investigating the supply chain of foreign weapons and verifying information about possible artificially inflated prices through the involvement of intermediary companies registered outside Ukraine," the statement said.
The gathered evidence will be used by NABU detectives to provide a legal assessment of the actions of officials. The investigation is ongoing.
The current leadership of the Ministry of Defense actively supports the National Bureau in the investigation of the criminal case, according to the statement.
