The strikes of the Russian army on Ukrainian airfields are ineffective because the aviation manages to relocate before the attacks, as stated by the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, during a television marathon.
He made this comment in response to the attack on the airfield in the city of Stary Kostiantyniv in the Khmelnytskyi region on the night of August 6. He mentioned that this airfield has been targeted before, as it serves as the base for a tactical aviation brigade.
However, the Ukrainian aviation is quite mobile, and their pilots know how to counter the enemy in such conditions. With dozens of operational airfields across the country, the enemy will not easily succeed in destroying the Ukrainian aviation.
Ignat explained that the Ukrainian aviation operates according to protocols during the attacks. Therefore, even before the strikes, the aircraft are relocated to other airfields.
On the night of August 6, Russian forces attacked the Khmelnytskyi region, and once again, the airfield in the city of Stary Kostiantyniv was targeted. According to local authorities, most of the missiles were successfully intercepted by the air defense systems.
