Tonight, the Russian forces carried out a massive kamikaze drone attack on Odessa region. The air raid lasted for about 7 hours, involving several groups of 'shaheeds'.
As a result of the attack, there are injured people, including 3 children. A dormitory was affected.
In Odessa region, 32 combat drones were shot down. This was reported on air by the chief of the Unified Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Natalia Humeniuk.
Most of the 'shaheeds' were directed at the port infrastructure in the southern part of Odessa region, in the Danube region. 39 UAVs of the 'Shahed-136/131' type were launched from the occupied Crimea targeting civilian infrastructure.
"The Russian devils have started the attack on Odesa for the second evening in a row. The air defense forces skillfully worked on every enemy target. As a result of the falling debris from the downed kamikaze drones, a dormitory was damaged. Eleven people were affected, including 3 children. The children and two adults have been hospitalized. The 8-year-old boys and the 12-year-old girl have contusions and closed head injuries, while the adults have concussions and injuries. We wish everyone a speedy recovery. Additionally, due to Russian terror, 11 buildings suffered damage. Two cars were completely burnt. The fire has been extinguished," said Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration.
On-site, a mobile warming center has been set up, with psychologists assisting the affected and residents. Food and warm clothing are being provided.
After the shelling of Odessa, the Russians proceeded to attack the Izmail district. They directed over 20 kamikaze drones there, targeting the port infrastructure. Fortunately, no people were harmed, but storage buildings suffered damage.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine clarified that as a result of the shelling, a passenger car and an economic structure caught fire. Eleven nearby buildings sustained damage.
According to preliminary data, 11 people were affected, including 3 children. After examination by medical service personnel, five people, including 3 children, were hospitalized with physical injuries. A mobile warming center has been established on-site, and psychologists from the State Emergency Service are assisting the affected and residents. The Red Cross has organized the delivery of food and warm clothing. Eight units of equipment and 30 rescuers from the State Emergency Service are involved in the response.
