Russian forces attacked Kyiv overnight on July 10 with drones and missiles, causing casualties, injuries, and fires. Residential, medical, educational, commercial, and transport infrastructure were damaged in eight districts of the capital.
The attacks caused destruction and debris falls in Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Obolonskyi, Podilskyi, Solomianskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts.
Overall, residential buildings, dormitories, car service stations, garage cooperatives, vehicles, a shopping center, roads, and tram tracks were damaged.
The Shevchenkivskyi district suffered the most from the combined attack. Several multi-story residential buildings were damaged there, with apartments on the top floors catching fire. Firefighters have already extinguished the fires.
In addition to residential buildings, office buildings caught fire, with flames on roofs, balconies, and technical floors. It is already known that two people died in this attack: a 68-year-old Kyiv resident and a 22-year-old police corporal working in the metro police.
Local authorities also reported that the primary healthcare center No. 1 outpatient clinic in Podilskyi district was almost completely destroyed by the attack.
Due to the fires caused by the shelling, Kyiv is covered in smoke, and residents are advised not to go outside unless necessary and to keep their windows closed.
Currently, about 400 rescuers and 90 units of emergency equipment are involved in clearing debris and responding to the shelling’s aftermath. Rope teams and pyrotechnics experts are working on site.
