Russian military destroyed an energy facility in Zaporizhzhia, resulting in 21,000 subscribers losing power and 17,000 subscribers left without heating.

This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, during a TV broadcast.

"The attack started at 9:50 PM. The enemy attacked the city with Shaheds. Six Shaheds damaged an industrial facility and destroyed an energy facility. 21,000 subscribers were left without electricity, including critical infrastructure such as boiler stations, healthcare facilities, and social protection buildings," he said.

Due to the air raid alert, energy workers and rescuers were unable to begin addressing the aftermath for several hours. The alert lasted a total of 6.5 hours.

"After energy workers began to deal with the consequences of the enemy's UAV attacks, two hours later, at 4 AM, the enemy launched four missiles at the city. The type of missiles is being determined. Once the air raid alert sounded, the missiles reached the city within 3.5 minutes. The enemy targeted the same facility that was damaged earlier by UAVs. Unfortunately, staff working on energy recovery and conducting rescue operations were injured," Fedorov said.

He added that one residential building was destroyed, and several others were damaged.

As a result of the attack, 25 people were injured, 10 of them with moderate injuries and currently in the hospital. The head of the regional administration called the situation in the city critical. Currently, more than 17,000 subscribers are without heating.
