A video has circulated online showing Russian terrorists shooting unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war. The lack of accountability has turned enemy crimes into a systematic pattern.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Ombudsman for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.

According to Lubinets, the video shows Russians shooting six Ukrainian soldiers who had been captured. The fate of the seventh soldier is unknown as the video cuts off.

"The shooting of each prisoner occurs before the eyes of their comrades. Meanwhile, the invaders order them to 'lie down and shut up,' and the 'operator' of the crime says, 'One - mine,' followed by footage of him firing a series of bullets into the back of one of the prisoners," Lubinets writes.

The Ombudsman added that Russian occupiers have never been known for their humane treatment of prisoners of war and once again demonstrated their helplessness and criminality.

"I have again sent information about this crime to the UN and the ICRC. This fact must be documented! The absence of accountability has made the crime systematic," he added.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reports that a pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Donetsk region.

According to preliminary information, during an assault on Ukrainian positions, terrorists captured six soldiers and later executed them.

"Investigative actions are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime and identify those involved in its commission," added the Prosecutor General's Office.

Russia has committed numerous war crimes during its war against Ukraine, including mass killings of civilians, shelling residential areas, hospitals, schools, and other civilian infrastructure. The most notable atrocities occurred in Bucha, Irpin, Mariupol, and other cities, where torture, executions, and violence against civilians have been documented.
