The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) adopted a resolution recognizing Russia's actions as genocide against the Ukrainian people. Furthermore, the resolution emphasizes the necessity of decolonizing the aggressor country.

This was reported by the Member of the Verkhovna Rada, Chairman of the Special Commission on the Protection of IDPs, and member of the parliamentary delegation Pavlo Frolov.

The politician clarified that the corresponding resolution was adopted on the opening day of the summer session in Bucharest. It condemns the OSCE PA's 10-year-long military aggression of Russia against Ukraine.

The document recognizes the actions of the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation and the Russian Armed Forces during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine as genocide against the Ukrainian people.

"The document also states that the decolonization of Russia is a necessary prerequisite for establishing lasting peace," said the delegation member.

The resolution, among other things, calls on the 53 OSCE participating states to make efforts to de-occupy Crimea and all territories of Ukraine captured by Russian invaders by supporting the Peace Formula and the Crimea Platform.

Additionally, the OSCE PA resolution calls for the creation of a Special Tribunal to hold the Russian side accountable for crimes committed during the aggressive war against Ukraine.

It also calls for investigations at both international and national levels into the mass atrocities, murders, and rapes committed by the Russian army in Ukraine, added the MP.

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly session is set to continue until July 3.
