The French company Turgis & Gaillard has signed a contract with the State Enterprise "Antonov" to manufacture multi-role drones Aarok in Ukraine.
This was reported by the publication La Tribune.
The agreement was signed by Turgis & Gaillard's military advisor Jean-François Ferle and the former head of the Directorate of Military Intelligence during a visit to Kyiv.
Recall that on September 26, Ukraine and France signed a large number of defense contracts.
Aarok is positioned by the manufacturer as a heavy-class reconnaissance-strike drone. Thanks to its high payload capacity of 1.5 tons, the drone can carry a large amount of various weapons.
This allows it to perform tasks such as close air support, intercepting airborne targets, coordinating strikes, conducting reconnaissance, and suppressing enemy air defense.
Due to its payload capacity, range, and flight endurance, AAROK can be used as a maritime patrol asset.
The drone can be used for anti-submarine operations and search and rescue missions. Additionally, it can be equipped with radar.
The wingspan of the AAROK drone is 22 meters, and its length is 14 meters.
The takeoff weight of AAROK is 5,500 kilograms, and its turboprop engine enables a maximum flight speed of up to 463 kilometers per hour.
The drone has a flight endurance of 30 hours and can reach a maximum altitude of 9,144 meters.
AAROK is capable of taking off and landing on unprepared surfaces and does not require specialized runways or landing strips.
