On the Independence Day of Ukraine, rescuer Volodymyr Skovorodka completed a charity marathon of 850 kilometers near Warsaw's fire and rescue department. The start took place on August 11 from Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv.

Thus, he set an absolute record for Ukraine, running 850 kilometers in 14 days.

The goal of the project: to raise UAH 2 million for the purchase of underwater drones and other modern equipment, which will help clear water bodies of the special emergency and rescue squad of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv. To date, more than 563 thousand hryvnias have been collected.

The route ran through five Ukrainian cities, particularly Bucha, Irpin, Borodyanka, and other de-occupied territories in the Kyiv region, and five Polish ones. The entire route of the marathon: Kyiv-Zhytomyr-Rivne-Lutsk-Kovel-Helm-Lublin-Gravolin-Vyazovnia-Warsaw.

At each key point, local rescuers, athletes, running club representatives, and other caring Ukrainians and Poles joined the run.
