As part of her working visit to Romania, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Hanna Hvozdiyar, held a bilateral meeting with Romania’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Liviu-Ionuț Moștianu.
The sides discussed ways to further deepen Ukrainian-Romanian cooperation in security and defense, particularly in the context of countering Russian aggression, as well as prospects for expanding collaboration in the defense-industrial sector, implementing joint military-technical projects, and strengthening partnerships between the defense structures of the two countries.
Hanna Hvozdiyar expressed gratitude to the Romanian side for its consistent support of Ukraine and solidarity in resisting the aggressor.
“Romania is our reliable partner in the region, and we highly value Bucharest’s practical steps to support Ukraine—both militarily and in humanitarian efforts,” Hvozdiyar said.

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Liviu-Ionuț Moștianu emphasized Romania’s unwavering support for Ukraine and expressed confidence in its victory.
During the visit, Hanna Hvozdiyar also held a bilateral meeting with Romania’s Minister of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism, Radu Miruța.
The participants exchanged views on prospects for developing Ukrainian-Romanian economic cooperation in the defense industry, joint opportunities for investment, technological exchange, and support for innovative enterprises.
“Combining efforts in developing defense technologies and production opens new opportunities for our countries. Economic cooperation should become another dimension of the sustainable partnership between Ukraine and Romania,” Hvozdiyar stressed.

Additionally, the Deputy Minister participated in the NATO-Industry Forum 2025, “NATO Rearmament – Innovation, Acceleration, Resilience,” joining the discussion on “Creating Space for Small and Medium Enterprises.”
During her speech, Hvozdiyar emphasized that Europe must understand that the war is not only ongoing in Ukraine—there has long been no true peace in Europe itself.
She also highlighted the importance of involving small and medium-sized businesses in the development of the defense-industrial complex and creating favorable conditions for innovative enterprises that can contribute to strengthening the defense capabilities of Ukraine and its partners.
As part of the visit, Hanna Hvozdiyar met with the leadership of leading Romanian defense manufacturers. The parties discussed opportunities to expand cooperation between Ukrainian and Romanian defense companies, develop joint production initiatives, and establish new supply chains.
