Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Brusylo held an online meeting with heads of Ukrainian diplomatic missions in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Mozambique, Botswana, and Mauritania.
Representatives from the Ukrainian Ministries of Economy, Agrarian Policy and Food, Digital Transformation, Education and Science, as well as Ukraine’s Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Maksym Subkh, also took part in the meeting.
Ihor Brusylo emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s cooperation with African countries and their support for Ukrainians in the fight against Russian aggression.
Ukraine is ready for constructive collaboration in agriculture, education, digitalization, and countering cyber and hybrid threats.
The discussion also focused on the humanitarian initiative “Grain from Ukraine,” which has provided food to over 10 million people across 12 African countries.
“Ukraine sees Africa not just as an export market but as a strategic partner in shaping global food security. Our goal is not only to restore but also to expand economic ties with African partners, leveraging all our competitive advantages in agribusiness, education and science, digital technologies, and combating cyber threats,” said Ihor Brusylo.
The meeting also covered cooperation in digital technologies and transformation, including sharing Ukraine’s experience in developing digital infrastructure in African countries.
Special attention was given to the education sector. They discussed expanding educational programs and academic exchanges with an emphasis on the needs of African countries in training qualified specialists in Ukraine.
