The Ukrainian delegation, led by the Minister of Digital Transformation, attended the World Radiocommunication Conference ITU WRC-23 in the United Arab Emirates. Ukraine participated in the event to limit Russia's influence in the telecom sector and find new strategic partners. During the conference, the Ukrainian delegation held over 20 working meetings with international partners, aiming to strengthen cooperation in the telecom industry, exchange experiences, and initiate more joint projects.
At the event, Ukraine received support from the global community, with 43 countries signing a Joint Statement condemning the illegal seizure of radio frequency resources in Ukraine's temporarily occupied territories. The Ukrainian delegation made a statement during the main session of the conference.
Additionally, Ukraine successfully limited Russian influence on other conference participants and the telecom sector as a whole. Ukraine blocked Russian candidates in ITU WRC-23 committees and proposed relocating the International Telecommunication Union's regional office from Moscow to another country. This proposal received support from other nations.
Representatives from Ukraine also held meetings with the leadership of the International Telecommunication Union and the Radiocommunication Bureau, highlighting the role of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in ensuring communication for the population and discussing further collaboration.
