Ukraine’s trade turnover reaches $58.3 billion in first half of 2025

According to data from the State Customs Service, Ukraine’s total trade turnover from January to June 2025 amounted to $58.3 billion.

  • Imports: $38.3 billion
  • Exports: $20 billion

Trade deficit: $18.3 billion — up 33% compared to the same period in 2024 ($13.7 billion)

Key trade partners:

Top importers to Ukraine:

  • China – $8.2 billion
  • Poland – $3.5 billion
  • Germany – $3.2 billion

Major imports include machinery and equipment, chemical products, and fuel and energy goods.

Top export destinations:

  • Poland – $2.4 billion
  • Turkey – $1.7 billion
  • Italy – $1.2 billion

(Compared to last year’s top three: Poland, Spain, and China)

Main Ukrainian exports:

  • Food products – $11.2 billion (down 10% from last year)
  • Metals and metal products – $2.3 billion
  • Machinery, equipment, and transport – $1.9 billion

The growing trade deficit highlights Ukraine's continued reliance on imports amid war-driven disruptions to domestic production and export infrastructure.
