Long-range strikes carried out by special operations forces of the Alpha Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine have inflicted significant losses on key elements of Russia’s layered air defense system.
The total value of the Russian air defense assets destroyed or disabled over the past year is estimated at approximately $4 billion.
In particular, the destruction of the following has been recorded:
- S-300 / S-350 / S-400 systems
- Buk-M1 / Buk-M2 surface-to-air missile systems
- Pantsir-S1 / Pantsir-S2 surface-to-air missile and gun systems
- Tor-M1 / Tor-M2 / Tor-M3 surface-to-air missile systems
In addition, Russian radar reconnaissance and guidance assets have suffered serious losses. Among those hit were radar stations and systems that are critical for air target detection and air defense operations, including:
- 55Zh6U Nebo-U / Nebo-M radar systems
- Podlyot radar systems
- Niobiy radar systems
- Kasta-2E2 radar systems
- Gamma-D radar systems
- Protivnik-GE radar systems
- Radar assets integrated into Buk, S-300, and S-400 systems
- The 92N6 radar and others
This effort has produced a systemic effect: corridors were created in Russia’s multilayered air defense, enabling safe routes for Ukrainian long-range drones deep into Russian rear areas — targeting military bases, depots, airfields, and other military facilities.
