"Voice of America" has produced a documentary film about the Ukrainian singer Jamala and the war in Ukraine. It was presented on February 24, the day of the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
Throughout the film, journalists seem to observe Jamala. According to her, this is where its value lies.
"I won't even mention when the cameras were there. It's really observing me during active assistance activities," comments Jamala.
Journalists, in particular, accompanied the singer abroad during her performances in Liverpool, New York, and Washington, as well as fundraising events for Ukraine. The film also includes archival footage of events from Jamala's phone in the first hours of the invasion.
The film is already available in Ukrainian on YouTube and in English on the Voice of America platform. Starting from March 4, it will be available for viewing in the United States on documentary film websites.
