One of the largest low-cost airlines in Europe, the Hungarian company Wizz Air will suspend flights to and from Moldova from March 14. The Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova reported this, and later confirmed by the carrier itself. The press service of the RBC company said that this is a "difficult but responsible decision", which is connected with the "recent events" in Moldova and with "although not one hundred percent, but a high risk in the country's airspace." What events and risks in question are not specified. After the start of the war between Russia and Ukraine, fragments of rockets were repeatedly found on the territory of Moldova.

Earlier, on February 27, the press secretary of the operational command "South" of the Ukrainian army, Natalia Humenyuk, spoke about the possibility of a Russian landing in Transnistria. She stated this was impossible: “After all, it is necessary to cross the airspace of either NATO countries or Ukraine directly. Well, who will allow them! The Ukrainian forces concentrated on the border between Ukraine and Moldova, in part controlled by the Transnistrian authorities, “are adequate to the threat that is hypothetically possible,” added Humenyuk. The probability that Russia will open a second front from the side of Transnistria, she called low.

Andriy Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said on February 24 that units of border guards, the army and the National Guard of Ukraine reinforced the Ukrainian-Moldovan section of the border in the Transnistrian region. Kyiv, since the beginning of a full-scale war, has been paying the same attention to it as to the borders with Belarus and Russia, since it does not exclude that it can be used to attack Ukrainian territory, Demchenko added.
