President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that following a meeting in Kherson, it was decided that the Unmanned Systems Forces, the "Madyar" unit, and other divisions will strengthen the city’s defense capabilities.
He announced this in an address from Kherson.
“Today, I held a meeting here with everyone responsible for security. Our military – the Unmanned Systems Forces – also took part. We determined what Kherson needs to have better protection. Thousands of Russian drone attacks target this city every month, with a constant threat. It was decided that our Unmanned Systems Forces, the Birds of Madyar, and other units will enhance their capabilities here – specifically, defense capabilities. It is important to implement all of this. We also defined tasks for protecting roads and logistics – the government will assist,” Zelensky said.

He also announced that on Friday, a special Staff meeting would be held to address the needs of frontline cities. Regarding Kherson, the President said that decisions had already been made to allocate equipment for the city’s energy infrastructure and provide additional funding.
“By tomorrow at the latest, these decisions must be approved by the government at the ministerial level. The regional administration has submitted requests for the needs of Kherson communities – including kindergartens, education support, and all social needs. People here deserve greater support,” the head of state emphasized.

During a visit to one of Kherson’s hospitals located in a zone of constant shelling, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with doctors and patients.
The hospital’s general director reported to the Head of State that the surgical department is currently treating patients with multiple blast injuries sustained as a result of Russian drone and artillery attacks. In addition, an underground intensive care unit has been set up, allowing medical personnel to provide round-the-clock surgical care in safe conditions.
President Zelensky also heard a report from the Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, on the construction of new medical infrastructure facilities across the Kherson region. Currently, 11 healthcare institutions have already equipped underground hospitals, with five more planned to be completed by the end of the year.
