In February, the number of combat engagements on the front decreased. However, Russian airstrikes on Ukrainian positions increased over the past month.

This was reported by the press service of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.

In February, 3,274 combat engagements were recorded, compared to 5,087 in January. Russian tactical aviation dropped over 3,522 guided bombs (KABs) in February, whereas in January, the occupiers used about 2,400.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in February, Russian forces suffered significant irrecoverable and sanitary personnel losses—36,570 troops, which is roughly equivalent to three motorized rifle divisions.

Additionally, in February, Ukrainian defenders destroyed or damaged:

  • 1,415 artillery systems—enough to equip over 78 artillery battalions (each Russian battalion has 18 guns);
  • 331 tanks—equivalent to 10 Russian tank battalions (each Russian battalion has 31 tanks);
  • 596  armored combat vehicles (ACVs)—almost enough to equip three Russian motorized rifle divisions.

Furthermore, Ukrainian forces hit a record number of Russian vehicles since the beginning of the full-scale invasion—3,472 units of transport and fuel tankers.
